Jacob and I went to Varsity on Magazine St. this Friday.
You see, I was having this little problem with my Asics GT 2160.
Look at the top left of the picture. The rubber completely wore off. I went look at my dailymile stats, and tracked how many miles I ran since I bought the shoes in March. Not much over 200 miles. Hm. Well, regardless, I needed a new pair of shoes. I have a flat foot, so I need sturdy, cushion-y shoes. I decided I would just try a new brand that serves the same purpose.
I tried on a pair of Brooks. I honestly don’t remember the name of the shoe. It was an adorable shoe, but it didn’t feel supportive enough.
I eventually decided to go with these girls.
Saucony ProGrid Guide 4.
The only complaint I have is that I wish there would have been another color. I don’t have a problem with pink, but I usually don’t choose pink shoes. Whatev. Not a big deal.
As for the husband, he broke down and finally bought himself a pair of Vibrams!
He took them for a short run around the block, and he really likes them! He just takes a while to fit his pinky toe in one of them.
The people at Varsity said they have a running group. If we lived closer, it would be awesome to do. But for now, we’ll just stick to running in the neighborhood and doing our Wednesday speedwork at the track with BRASS.
Oh yeah! And I love how every time you buy a pair of shoes, you get a free Varsity shirt. I got neon green, and my husband got bright orange.
We may or may not both be wearing them today. (Hey! I got dressed first!)
