Week in Review 7/4 to 7/10

Monday:

I tried out the “brick” workout concept by biking 3 miles, running 1 (x3).

Tuesday:

6 mile bike ride with a friend. Fun times.

Wednesday:

Tried Body Pump (Les Mills) for the first time (loved it!)

Later that evening, went to track for speedwork.

1 mile warmup, 400 m @ 1 mile pace (x4) I was too wimpy to do x8.

1 mile cooldown

So, total of 3 miles

Thursday:

Tried Body Flow (Les Mills) for the first time (different, but liked it!). It was a good class to follow Body Pump, since I was experiencing some soreness.

Ran 3.1 miles with awesome running partner, Jessica. Sweaty pics to prove it!

Friday:

Rest day

Saturday:

Cycled  almost 17 miles with my Paw Paw Burnie! (He is a beast! See this link for details)

Sunday:

Ran 1.5 miles

According to the Jazz Half Marathon training schedule, I was supposed to run 5 miles on Saturday. That was the only part of the plan I did not fulfill. I’d been invited by my grandpa to ride bikes, and I didn’t want to turn the opportunity down. I am hoping the almost 17 miles counted somewhat towards those 5 miles. We rode at a 14-15 mph speed almost the whole time. As for today, it was supposed to be a rest day. Feeling guilty about missing the 5 mile run yesterday, I tried to push them out today. Didn’t happen. My legs were just not having it. So, hopefully I can start the week off with a Body Pump class tomorrow morning and not miss any more training.

Have a great week, everyone!

Training plans can be flexible and you should always adjust according to your body’s needs- no need for guilt as long as you’re getting in some cardio with some rest added in there!!!
