On Saturday, August 20, 2011 the runNIGHTLIFE series held the 1st Annual Red Carpet Road Race starting at 6 p.m.
This event allowed every participant to receive VIP treatment. Runners were encouraged to adorn formal wear during the 5K race through downtown Baton Rouge. Between the tuxedo race bibs and full-length gowns, the participants were ready for the red carpet treatment.
The race finished on a red carpet that lead to the after party in The Lyceum and paparazzi were on hand to document the special event. Runners were required to have a medal to enter the building. The VIP party included a martini bar, beer, catering by Stroube’s Seafood and Steaks, and music by Josh Garrett and the Bottomline.
Over $8,000 in gifts were given out, which allowed every race participant to receive a door prize presented to them by an Adlers jewelry model. The grand prize of the night was a coveted trip for two to the Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas Marathon/Half Marathon.
