On Saturday, November 12th, over 1,600 runners from all over Louisiana gathered in downtown Lafayette, La. to participate in the 2011 Cajun Cup 10k.
Sponsored by Geaux Run, the 6.2-mile course lead runners through the beautiful south side of Lafayette and even down the street of the Cajun Dome. The course was relatively flat with no elevation changes. The weather was at it’s best for the race, with temperatures of high 50s at race time. The University of Louisiana at Lafayette Track & Field team assisted by volunteering for the race.
The first place finisher was Jarrett Leblanc of Hathaway, La. with a time of 31:00. The first place female finisher was Megan Gohres of New Orleans with a time of 37:44.
