Pajamas are probably one of the item least likely to appear at a race, unless it’s the 2 Mile Pajama Party Prowl. That’s right, yesterday in Mandeville, La, Varsity Sports and 15th Street Flyers hosted race #3 of their popular summer series. To shake things up on this sticky summer afternoon, runners were encourage to come out in their finest pajamas.
Runners of all ages participated in the 2 mile course that started and ended at the front of the Varsity Sports store. The kids were slightly more creative with their pajamas than most of the adults. The race also featured special guest from Saucony. Runners were allowed to try out new models of the current line and see what’s to come.
On this humid afternoon with temperatures in the low 80s, the first place male and female turned in some fast times. Paul Dauterive was the first place male with an overall time of 11:17. One of the local celebrity, female runners, Rachel Booth, finished as the first overall female with a time of 11:25.
