Dear Society,
I am rejecting all of it. This message is not for me.
Nobody became prettier or hotter than anybody. Stop pitting women against each other. Some girls are super skinny and some are not. If you are not super skinny and you want to be then go for it. If you are happy and proud of your body just the way it is then stop showing me these posters because otherwise, I don’t believe you. Things do taste as good as being fit feels. I’m fit and I think ice cream and chocolate stout taste JUST AS GOOD as being fit feels, and why can’t there EVER be a finish line? There is NO finish line? Why not? I’m tired and I wake up before 4AM 6 days a week and I need to not feel like you are trying to make me feel guilty about camping out on the couch in my pajamas with a bowl of ice cream and a side of cheeseburger on that 7th day, and so to answer your question I am going to be a wimp today.
I need to see a poster that says “It’s ok. Take a break. Don’t be so hard on yourself. You are awesome, have a cookie.”
Because if there is no finish line and if life is only about being fit and if girls hate me because I am smaller than them and other girls think I am not skinny enough and you’re telling me that I can’t have a cookie then I quit. So stop with the noise. Today I am happy with my lifestyle as a runner and I like my very early mornings, but on the days that I just don’t feel like it don’t show me this
because I think that’s a stupid thing to say.
