Runner of the Week, 32 year old Cheryl Morris from Baton Rouge is the epitome of what Claim Your Journey stands for. According to Cheryl, she averages 20 miles a week and has been running for two great years. She has lost 50 plus pounds since starting her journey with running and Weight Watchers. Cheryl is a mother of two wonderful boys and wifey of one great guy! She is also a Run Coordinator for Black Girls Run and every race she runs is in honor of her mom who recently had her leg amputated due to complications of diabetes.
When asked to describe her mentality Cheryl says, “Putting my fears in a headlock and thrashing them gives me a RUSH of unexplainable excitement… Each day I CHOOSE ME by Making Healthy Moves! I left doubt for confidence and married success! Hello confidence, happy to make your acquaintance! I live with Positivity and Goals! I am a walking VICTORY, hear me ROAR! Who or what do you look to for motivation? Myself… on this journey I’ve learned to be my own cheerleader

In your opinion, what is your biggest achievement? Getting rid of medication for hypertension and diabetes 4 months into my weight loss journey
