
August is here, and from the trails to the track, we’re definitely feeling the heat. But with half marathon/marathon season just around the bend, it’s more important than ever that we runners continue to train diligently to maintain the base we’ll need for increased mileage this fall. CYJ Blogger Fred rounds up his methods for pushing through the summer heat in this week’s featured blog post, and offers some wise words for those of us struggling with Louisiana’s heat and humidity as we prepare to step it up:
The biggest necessity when training for a marathon, or race of any distance for that matter, is having a support system that not only enables you to undertake a task of such magnitude, but also one that encourages you to push on in spite of the challenges that try to get in your way.
