As marathon season inches closer and we begin to ramp up our training, some of us need to think about incorporating different types of workouts to meet the demands of courses we’ll be racing on come fall. This week, CYJ Blogger Nick outlines his plans for hill training in Lake Charles. Most of us will stick with the treadmill or overpasses with a walking path, and Nick sends caution to the runner who might be tempted to run on some of the more challenging “hills” in the area:
I also know a runner that claims to do Ironman hill training by running up I-210 bridge. This is the insane option. Drive up that bridge, I challenge you to find a space to run on. Don’t be tempted with this hill, you’ll die.
