The popular running club in Baton Rouge, Happy’s Running Club, officially launched their new club in New Orleans at Happy’s Irish Pub off Poydras Ave.
The immediate difference between the Baton Rouge and New Orleans club would be the traffic at 6:15p. While traffic calms down quite a bit in Baton Rouge at 6:15p, New Orleans is a city that never rest. As runners arrived to Happy’s they were greeted at the gate by the Director, Mark Berger. Each runner is required to sign a waiver for insurance purposes.
Refusing to miss out on the fun from on kickoff night, a bus load of runners from Baton Rouge would arrive just before the start of the run. The bus included the founders of the Baton Rouge club, Scott Higgins and Michael Lang.
After a welcome from Berger, runners took to the streets of New Orleans for the first run. Onlookers couldn’t help but take out their phones to get photos of the runners as they passed by.
The club is off to a great start in New Orleans. Join them on Wednesday nights at 6p.
