Here’s a video recap of our most recent stop on the 2012 Run Louisiana Tour at the Run Forest Run 5k in Lake Charles, LA.
It was reported by Race Director Jerry Forest that more than 100 runners gathered in downtown Lake Charles, LA at the Civic Center for the inaugural Run Forest Run 5k. The race was in honor of one of the founding members of the Lake Area Runners organization that passed away.
The course took runners along the lake shore where they could run along the calming waters of the lake, admire the beautiful homes, and the sunrise as they continued along.
One of the highlights of the day was the participation of the group Ainley’s Angels. It allows disabled children to enjoy endurance sports which they normally wouldn’t be able to do.
Joe Conway was the first place finisher with a time of 18:00. The first place female finisher was Kelly Juneau with a time of 20:20.
