Here’s a video recap of our most recent stop on the 2012 Run Louisiana Tour at the Battlefield Trail 10k in Jackson, LA.
Over 100 runners gathered in the front of the Port Hudson Historic State Site for the Battlefield Trail 10k benefitting the Rocketkidz Foundation.
The course started at the back of the site with runners along the grass for the first mile. For the remaining 5 miles, the runners would disappear into the woods for that would include hills, rocks, and even banana spiders. The 8:30 am race brought runners from all over the surrounding area to support a great cause, even as far as Texas!
One of the highlights from the race had to be the surprise birthday party for Jason Jeffirs. There were balloons, Tattoos, and birthday cake. The birthday boy was certainly surprised and had a great day on the trails.
Edwin Koenck was first overall with a time of 34:04. Stephanie Kalozdi was the first female with a time of 41:13.
