Here’s a video recap of our most recent stop on the 2012 Run Louisiana Tour at the Tipitina’a Rhythm & Blues 5k in New Orleans, LA.
Over 500 runners gathered on the corner of Napoleon Avenue and Tchoupitoulas St in front of popular Tipitina’s music venue for the Tipitina’a Rhythm & Blues 5k benefitting the Tipitina’s Foundation.
The race was schedule to start at 5p, but due to a mixup with the permit, the race was delayed until 6p. While runners waited in the light rain for the race to begin, entertainment was provided by local brass bands including Da Wright Way Brass Band. The course took runners along Tchoupitoulas Avenue where residents cheered along.
One of the highlights from the race had to be the costumes. Participants were encouraged to dress as their favorite musicians. It’s safe to say that many enjoyed the sites of Dolly Parton.
Nick Accardo was the first male overall with a time of 15:49. Sarah Skotty was the first female with a time of 17:15.
